Los Angeles Engagement Session

Location: Downtown Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Concert Hall & Museum

Theme: Romantic, Upscale, Modern, Clean and incorporating their daughter into some of the pictures. We went for a dramatic look with a gown and tuxedo.

Kristen & JP…hmmm…where do I begin?  Well, I’ll start with the beginning! We met at a busy Starbucks, and chatted for a couple hours. Kristen is radiant, confident and very genuine…she comes across as all of these, from the moment you engage in any conversation with her.  PJ, is quiet, sincere and creative – He designed their own wedding invitations along with a few other craftiness (aka “engineering”) type minded things!  What made me love them even more, was when they agreed to do a dramatic look at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for their engagement session, in Los Angeles.  They showed up in top notch attire, hair and makeup done…and don’ t forget the music! PJ showed up and said, “hold on a sec,” as he unzips his backpack and pulls out a bluetooth portable speaker and his phone, and puts on some upbeat in the mood music!!! I just about died…it was the funniest, coolest thing ever…and best part was, HE brought it, not Kristen (I love when grooms are involved in the planning aspect and details of photo shoots and wedding planning)!

Anyhow, this is just a sneak peek…there are many more to come. Oh and how cute is their daughter, right? Enjoy!

I have to be honest and say that of all things, once you hire a fantastic wedding photographer that “gets” you. The second most important thing is Location! location is a huge part in telling your story, and delivering amazing photographs to you. The location doesn’t need to be sentimental, though that can be super fun and adventurous as well. Sometimes, its just about creating a moment…a moment that is dreamy, edgy, romantic and unique. Creating a new memory for you two. I have photographed couples from all over including locations such as: Downtown Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, San Juan, Santa Barbara, Redding, Hawaii, Jamaica, Las Vegas, Arizona and so many others. I love the Villa at San Juan Capistrano, and The Mission. I adore winery weddings in Temecula or Napa. And a great destination wedding. In fact, I’m offering free travel for all destination weddings.

My favorite thing to photograph is a couple, in love, laughing and enjoying themselves. I love genuine emotion, that glance, the squinty nose laugh…and of course the “smize.” Don’t worry, I know how to pull all of those emotions out of you (if you’re not a natural in front of the camera…as most of us aren’t), just show up, with a great attitude and lets play!
